Photosynthesis by ~NDean:iconNDean:

The green phosphorescence.
For when the light emits itself
Upon the luscious earth
Tiny prisms break open.

Suction of liquid.
The stored life locked in a cage
Of biological indifference
Readying itself
For the morn.

Shine, shine on oh homeless sun
Homeless as you need no home
You are the sentinel of the greenery

She continues to stare into your face
With her warm glow.
Grow
Grow.

Entry for :iconwriteaway:'s Addiction competition.

I originally thought of writing a poem of how we are addicted to writing, then thought of how unoriginal that would appear.

This though, I feel, is more unique. The calm addiction of plants for light. They need it to live and I wanted to show a form of addiction without needles or pills or psychological effects. It may not come across but I did not want it to be angry, more calm, to mimic a field.
